Then, you may start with an introduction that will entice your reader (even if it is your teacher) into read more then, make the body of your paper. Write what you feel and how you reacted or, int the case that this is for a survey regarding more than a few people, then write what the public's reaction was.

You may then, finish with a competent ending. (How else can you finish a paper?)

There are many ways to start off an essay!
you can start with a quote from a famous person relating to the topic of the essay.
you can start with a question. but if its a persuasive writing, with a question as the prompt dont use that same question.
you can start with a scenario like ' I walked down the path in the park when i say a big huge poster saying XXXXXX'
or you can start of with a fact like saying "In 1886, the famous Coca Cola was invented.

You should start out an essay with a general statement that is connected to the thesis. It can be a quote, truism, or anything you can come up with. It's job is to grab the readers attention right away. A simple example is if you are analyzing a book thats main topic is overcoming obstacles and achieving a good opening could be "when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade". You can also go to Google and type in quotes about your topic, but you must stay true to this statement.
