∙ 13y agoWhen introducing a guest speaker, one should "ALWAYS" start by addressing the audience with good morning, good afternoon, or good evening, and then quickly making a blanket statement to incorporate two things. Firstly, that we are indeed honored to have, (speakers name) take their time to come and speak, as well as information that explains who the person is, and what their area of expertise is. The latter of these will include basic answers to the age old list of "who, what, when, where, why, and how". Then, in closing the introduction, one would simply state, "without further adieu, please join with me in welcoming, (speakers name!). Then stepping slightly to one side of the podium, it is customary to offer a smile and a handshake to the guest speaker as an official welcome before stepping down.
