Usually a firm "no" will help curb the unwanted behavior. If needed you should put the dog in the "down" position and offer verbal queues for good and bad behavior, ie. dog is laying down, having them stay ... good dog ... as they start to move to get up .. bad .. no .. stay ... etc. Try not to offer encouragement for the dog to nudge and if you are unable to get results instantly, don't give up, use "away" treatment like moving the dog to behind a gate (as in a timeout, etc).
