You can't, but keeping it wrapped will keep it from drying out. Hard cheeses in particular are produced using mold. And so long as you cut off the mold it is perfectly safe to eat.
Keeping your bread in a dark, cool place it one way to prevent molding. Keeping it in the refrigerator is a good option.

If the refrigerator had a nose it could tell you when your food had gone off, for example cheese, when cheese goes off it smells absolutely disgusting, if a refrigerator had a nose it would tell you how smelly the cheese was!
