Hi-Point recommends users to not take apart their guns. There is almost no reason to do so. The gun can be just flushed with cleaning solvent while assembled. The manufacturer has a lifetime warranty and great customer support, so there is no real reason to repair it, either.

That said, there is a way to do it. You need a set of pin punches and a small gunsmithing hammer.

There is a small pin in the frame of the gun under the rear part of the slide behind the safety. This pin can be knocked out with an appropriately sized punch and this will allow the gun to be disassembled. Watch for flying springs.
