Disconnect battery. Jack it up on stands. Underneath: Disconnect the wires. Unbolt the starter (should be two mounting bolts), and remove from car. Sometimes there is an extra mount using a brace.

Disconnect the wires at the starter solenoid. Take note of where they come off so you can put them back on. 4. If there is a brace from the starter to the block remove it. 5. Take out the two bolts that hold the starter in place, pull the starter out of the bell housing. If there are shims between the starter and the bottom of the engine block save them for use with the replacement starter. Reverse the process to install a replacement starter.

take off starter add shim directly under the 2 bolts, retorque bolts to spec
2 bolts hold it in and you have the hot wire from the battery to take off the starter and 2 small wires and just pull it out.
