The most thorough way to do this is to locate the toolbar in question in the Add / Remove Programs applet (in Windows XP and earlier) or the Programs and Features applet (in Windows Vista and later) in Control Panel, and select Uninstall there. If the toolbar is built properly, that will remove it.
Not all toolbars are honest, however; some do not provide an uninstall method. If the toolbar does not provide an uninstall entry, it may have to be removed by a spyware or adware removal tool; or a computer professional may have to be called in.
If you want to try to remove a toolbar that resists being removed correctly, two tools that seem suited to the job are AdAware and Spybot Search and Destroy.

If you have 2007 they will disapear and come back when you are working. Otherwise you can check off the standard and formatting toolbars, click on View/Toolbars and tick off Standard and Formatting
