I don't know if it works for gamecube but my PC and PS2 work fine if you put toothpaste in the scratches and let it dry. If you want to play it completely safe buy a product like Merlins disk magic cause they will guarantee it and i don't think your toothpaste company will.
You fix discs by using a kit with a series of abrasives, from course to light, to wear down scratches - step by step - to a smooth finish. Professional systems use multiple abrasives, consisting of different hardness and shapes (sharp to smooth). Regardless of product or system used, the key is to use a series of abrasives (more than one stage) to gradually bring the plastic back to a polished surface. You can also do a search for scratch repair to see what is out there in your area. To do a targeted search, use the + sign in front of the search words +disc +scratch +repair
There are many ways. You could buy some disk cream. go to a shop that repairs disks. If I were you though, I would get a skip doctor. It's a device that fixes disks, it costs around 40 US dollars. Fixing a disk is a thing that takes time if you don't have anything to do it with. Also, if a scratch is too deep, it destroys the data store. Usually, a scratch scratches the protective layer, making the data hard to see because the laser is reflecting off the tiny scratch. It doesn't matter how many you have, if one is too deep, the disk is ruined.
How can you remove scratches from disks?
The best way to remove scratches from discs such as Video Games, DVD'S, CD'S is to use a product called Brasso. Brasso is very cheap to buy and works very well. Most of the time it removes the scratch straight away. But if it doesn't go straight away do it a few more times until the scratch finally disappears.
Below is the method how you use it:
Go to your local video shop and ask them. They should have something for that; It will cost around $5.00. I think its the only way you can.
I usually use rubbing alchohal.
scratches are indents in the disc or where a tiny part of the disc is gone. they cannot be taken off, for they are not a physical object attached to the disc.
No.
well you should go to your game supplies e.g. game or Smyths normally they have a machine which can take off most scratches for a price of course from £1-£5 == ==
with one of those disc cleaners. you can buy them at a game store for $12-$30.
For lightly scratches sometimes either Colgate Toothpaste, Or any brand of peanut butter will work.
Buy a new one then don't scratch it
Try wiping the disc with a towel or tissue to rub off any dust. There are probably scratches on it. If that doesn't work, your game may have too many scratches.
Yes, you can buff the surface of a disc with toothpaste to remove, or lessen, scratches.
bring it to jb-hi-fi and they have a buffer wich will clean all the scratches off the disc.
If the disc has scratches that make it not work, try using a pencil eraser and rub from the center to the edge. It rubs off a small layer that rubs away the scratches. Hope this helps!
Follow the link below (Sources and related links) to read about several methods that you can try.
Wet a clean towel with water and a tiny bit of soap, rub in a circular motion. If that does not work, try using a bit of glass cleaner. I have tried both of those and they don't work but u should just take it to game stop or playntrade.
