There is a C-clip between the handle and the door panel. There is a special tool you can buy to get it off - from an auto parts store. If you do it once, you'll see how simple it is!
Go to autozone, carquest, etc and buy a tool specifically designed to remove the crank. costs a few dollars
If you remove the Right front tire and take the plastic off the side behind the strut you will see the crank sensor and you will have to take the wires out to get the old one fished out from behind the belt tensioners
Loosen the set screw.
take out the old on and put in the new one
you buy one or take it to the shop
Take it to a mechanic.
a really big hammer!
on a 2.0L engine. no
sawzall or a cutting torch! ;-)
Window cranks are easy to remove. Go to the local auto parts store, and ask for a window crank removal too. Slip it in behind the crank until it comes free.
take your foot off the gas!
Or, just go buy a crank tool for $8. Be sure not to lose the clip, they can fire off very easily. it's very simple, just take a shop rag (any old rag) and slide it between the base of the window crank handle and the door panel. move the rag in a see-saw motion while pushing it towards the crank handle. this will release the c clip that holds the crank onto the shaft.
