Authenticity of Yu-Gi-Oh Cards well first things first, look for the hologram at the bottom right corner, then look at the back of the card, for e.g. the back of the card would be blue for Obelisk and reddish for Slifer and yellow for Ra, then another thing to look for is that it doesn't have 1st edition on it, you cannot get a 1st edition god card, then look just below the cards art at the right, it should say GBI-001, GBI-002, GBI-003, if it has that it means that card came with the Japanese game boy advance game, there are other versions like magazine versions though i forget them, Ra came with an X box game. Then look at the very bottom left of the card, it should have Japanese text. So there you go all the signs to look for, O and there are no variant god cards (different looking pictures of the gods on card).Actually there is a new tournament legal Obelisk card, it came with an issue of U.S. Shonen Jump, it's an effect monster, so the back looks like any other card. (hence why it's tournament legal, among other reasons.) On the picture at the bottom right there is a signature saying "Kaz" signed by kazuki takahashi, the creator of yugioh, it is still hollow, the effects are the same, and instead of blue the card is orangish (like a normal effect card.). The picture of obelisk is also a little different, but the name is the same. I'm sure you could find a picture of it. Also you might want to check the ones from the legendary collection because although they look authentic apparantly the can be fake.

You can tell by just looking at the card. If it is a dark yellow color, it is not a real god card. Or, you can just go to someone who owns a REAL god card, and ask them. You can also ask professional Yu-Gi-Oh card collectors and whatever else to see if it is real.

How I know, It's usually a darker yellow, and that it's either shiny, or the god looks darker than is should be on the card.

.... i got a question to go with this: some people say if its real the god card will have the color of the god on the back like slifer's back would be red and ra's yellow and obelisks blue i know my ra is fake cuz it don't say what type it is across from name(hard to actually say cuz its in Japanese ill have to compare to another 1)a question i have is can gods be real and not have the color of the god on back? cuz my obelisk has all the things of a normal card even ses 1st edition but no blue back and it also ses gold across from the name in the circle that is yellow

The Most easy way to spot if a god card is fake is if it says just underneith the picture of the card "1st edition" if it says this then it will be a fake there is no such thing as a 1st edition god card. Another way to spot if a god card is fake is how thick the card is and if it seems shiney. The only thing that should shine on the card is the picture not the card, they gloss the card to make it seem thicker than it acctually is. Another obvious sign of knowing if a god card is fake is spelling. Always check the spelling of " Kazuki Takahashi" sometimes people may spell the creator of the game wrongly. Another way is the type. all god cards will have "Divine/beast" underneath the card and only the "d" in divine and the "b" in beast are in capitals, if u find that your card is spelt like this "DIVINE/BEAST" and not like this "Divine/beast", then it is a fake. Finally, the real god cards backs, instead of the traditional plain brown cyclone thing, will have a tinge of the colour of the monster, eg: obelisk=blue, slifer=red, ra=yellow. I hope this information helped you greatly.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Beckett Magazine recently published an article on this very subject written by the owner of Collector's Cache, here are images of the actual pages:

There is no true way without disassembling the card, but there is one method you may use with any non-foil card. It is called the corner test, and requires you to touch the top corners of the card to the bottom corners, or side-to-side. If the card creases, it is most certainly a fake. However, some people get nervous about doing this because they are afraid that the card will have a permanent curvature, but this can be prevented with a craftsman's touch.

Is big letters on a back of a Yugioh card a sign that it is fake?

The only time a card's back should be different in any way from a regular card, is for the original God Cards, and asian-english cards like Kanan the Sword Mistress. If a card has english text but the back is different, it's a fake.

I belive you must join a wireless game with a Yugioh Nightmare troubadour on ds that has a god card. You then can buy the god card for I belive 4,200 DP. The Nightmare Troubadour game will not lose the god card if you buy it, or any other card. This is the only way to get cards like Raigeki, and Monster Reborn.
