Assuming for the sake of argument you meant "solenoid" and are specifically referring to the starter solenoid:

You can purchase a remote switch, follow the package directions that show you where to attach the leads, and hit the button. (Optionally, if you are particularly brave and/or stupid, this can be accomplished with any standard screwdriver.) If this starts your vehicle, then your problem is elsewhere. If not, and you can determine the battery is not the problem, remove the starter with the solenoid and take it to any reputable auto parts store where they will be able to test the unit for you free of charge.
