Trading Between Pokemon VersionsYou need a thing (I bought mine at Wal-Mart) that hooks into your GameBoy like a Wireless Adapter, but has a cord coming out.The cord that comes out should connect with the Game Cube controller socket. Then go to the trade center in both games and you should be able to trade Pokemon. Answeri have the adapters do i have to beat the game on both first? i beat colosseum. i have trade machine and gba gamecube linker. every time i trade it says that i can't Answeryou need a gameboy gamecube link. than, beat the game and go to the basement in pheanic city. than trade! oh, and on emerld, you need the nationam dex.

ask coral she will no

AnswerThe last answer above IS WRONG. On Pokemon Emerald you only need the national dex to trade with Pokemon on versons Firered and Leafgreen. Once you are able to trade with Ruby and sapphire you can trade and use your Pokemon in Pokemon Colosseum. Beating the game isn't required to do this. Matter of fact one can play for only 13 minute and be able to connect with Pokemon Colosseum. And because of kids randoming answering questions like the answer above is the reason why you cant use WIKI as a college refference. Let alone a agrument/disscusion in REAL LIFE. Wiki is fail period and i cant believe I had to type this.

You do however need to beat Pokemon Colosseum.

you have to have a black piece on the bottom of the game cube and a special link found at Walmart plug it in to the front of the black piece and the trade

Better Answer:

in fire red, u must have finished celio's Lunnett system.

in Pokemon colosseum, u must have beaten the major. then go to phenac city and go to the Pokemon center. go downstairs and the will be a lady there. talk to her and she will let u trade. (must have a special link to hook up to the game cube and to the gba)

If you you are using an actual Nintendo DS (or other form of DS) enter your Pokemon Fire Red game in the Gameboy slot on the bottom, then put in your Pokemon Platinum game in the DS slot at the top. Enter Pokemon Platinum and at the main menu right after you press start and Giratina does his little roar, you should see an option under 'New Game' or 'Mystery Gift' to "Migrate from Fire Red." Select this and click "yes" when it asked you if you want to migrate. Then, click "yes" again once it tells you that you won't be able to return the Pokemon back to Fire Red. It will then show you a screen with all the Pokemon in your PC (or storage system) in your Fire Red game. Select all the Pokemon you want to migrate (max. 6) and select yes if you want to trade them over to your Pokemon Platinum game. Enter your Pokemon Platinum game and the Pokemon from Fire Red should be in your PC (or storage system.) Hope this helped!

Note: You can only trade 6 Pokemon at a time, Pokemon cannot be traded if they know a hidden move, Pokemon cannot be traded back from Platinum version, and if you're using a DS Emulator such as DeSmuMe or NO$GBA, there is no way currently to migrate Pokemon from GBA games to DS games on those yet.

You will not be able to trade betweeen Pokémon Crystal and Pokémon Colosseum since Pokémon Colosseum can only connect to the Gameboy Advanced Pokémon games of Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, Pokémon FireRed, LeafGreen and Pokémon Emerald.
