As of version 3.0 of the iPhone OS there is an option under Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Import SIM Contacts.
Obviously you need the sim card in the iPhone to allow this to happen
Also be aware that if your iPhone is locked to a carrier, it will not let you import contacts from a different carrier's SIM card. (tested on iPhone 4, iOS 4.1)
this is for samsung blackjack, and blackberry phones-
The way i did it, which was very tedious as i could only find how to save one contact at a time;
1. Go to contacts 2. find the contact you want to transfer 3. click on the "o.k" button 4. once the screen has come up with the contact's general info, 5. scroll to the number associated with heading 'Call Mobile' or 'Call Number' 6. once highlighted, click menu 7. select Save to SIM.
from here you have an option to change the contacts Name differently to that saved upon the phone. do what you will, then click done.
the Contact is now saving to your SIM, and a duplicate will soon appear in the contacts menu.
if you are going to delete the pre-existing contact saved to your phone, make sure you delete the contact with the little 'm' at the side of the screen, as that corresponds to the saved contact on the phone, not SIM.
hopefully you have the patience to save each contact, and that you found this walk through helpful.
just like the Samsung blackjack, it is quite tedious. but here it goes-
1.go to contacts in your phone
2.click trackball over contact you're saving on SIM card
3.when is shows "mobile:(***-***-****)" click the blackberry logo button, and a list will show. At the top of the new list there is an option saying "Copy to SIM Phone Book," click trackball over that option
4.the name and phone number of selected contact will show up again, you're not done just yet BE SURE you click the trackball and a list will pop up with the option "Save" click trackball over that save option and the contact will be added to your SIM Phone Book.
hope this helps!
You have to go to ur cell phone store and ask them to do it for you. If you fried your SIM card, like I did a few days ago, then you have to go to your cell phone store and get a new SIM card. Don't worry, not everything on your cell phone is saved on your SIM card. Your contact list is saved on your cell phone. So you don't have to ask everyone in your contact list for their numbers again. That would take a while if you don't every number memorized.
contacts mail etc
import sim contacts how do I transfer Sim contacts to iPhone
you should be able to save them from the options menu on contacts or the'll save in there automatically
How do you copy contacts from sim to phone?
Look in 'Options' in the Contacts menu - you should see a 'copy to' option.
when adding a contact after you have put in the name and number you press done you will see preference storage "phone/sim" you choose sim simple and easy as abc
It depends if the original phone the SIM card belonged to was saving them to the SIM card itself. Here's some clarification: The SIM card will retain contacts from a previous phone. The iPhone will not recognize SIM contacts until they are imported to the Contact list via Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Import SIM Contacts The iPhone does not save contacts to the SIM card, and therefore if the SIM is from an old iPhone there won't be any SIM contacts present.
From your blackberry ,copy all your contacts to your sim card. Then remove the sim from your bnlackberry and put it inside the iphone. On your iphone do the import sim contacts. No sim cards are only for numbers
you cant the razor has a card bilt into Its in the contacts section, under manage my contacts. The SIM is NOT built into the phone.
Hi, If you already have your contacts on the SIM card then you need to open the phonebook on the Vivaz, goto options then settings and choose "Contacts to display" and check the box next to SIM card.
Yes, but first you must unlock and jailbreak your iphone.
Put the SIM card from the new phone into the old one. Copy the contacts from the old phone's memory to the SIM card. Put the SIM car back in the new phone - then - either copy the contacts to the new phone's memory - or leave them on the SIM card. Either way - the new phone will find them.
You can use a sim card reader to transfer from sim to sim, this is the easiest method, but rarely do people actually have such a device. The sim card can only transfer phone numbers, and in some cases, limited SMS history. This excludes email addresses, pictures, ringtones, and games. Transferring to or from a phone is a different menu path for nearly every model out there... Nokia - go under names or contacts, scroll down until you see "copy", select copy, it will ask if you want it from the "phone to the sim", yes choose this option, it will ask if you want to "keep original" and that is it , it will copy the numbers onto the sim. For other model phones, ask a teenager to show you. Most of them are technologically fluent.
OF COURSE , all phones HAVE to have a sim card to work because it must store your number and any information you put on the phone. i think it may work without one , BUT i dont think you can save contacts or even get calls.
You can buy a SIM card reader from a variety of places. I'd recommend the one from Dekart. There is a link to the product below.
