It depends on what year Malibu you have. But 1997 and newer chevy Malibu's all have automatic headlights. So leave the light switch turned on auto. The older ones have a knob to the left of the steering wheel. Twist it if it's on the steering column or if it's on the dash pull it.

To operate the headlights and running lights on a 1998 Chevy Malibu, locate the headlight switch on the left side of the steering column. Turn the switch to the right to activate the parking lights and further to the right to turn on the headlights. Do 2001 Chevrolet Malibu headlights come on automatically when the car is started?

Your question is a little ambiguous, but I have a 2001 Malibu and it has daytime running lights (for safety). So, my running lights are on during daylight and the headlights automatically come on at nighttime. You can turn the switch to shut them off if need be. I hope that helps!

How do you aim headlights on 2003 Chevy Malibu?

To aim the headlights on a 2003 Chevy Malibu, park the vehicle on a level surface about 25 feet from a wall. Turn on the headlights and measure the height from the ground to the center of the headlight lens. Mark this height on the wall, then adjust the horizontal and vertical alignment screws on the headlight assembly until the top of the beam is just below the mark and the center of the beam is aligned with the center of the vehicle.

Why won't my Headlights turn off on my 1998 Chevy Malibu?

AnswerI assume that you mean why won't the headlights turn off when I turn them off at night. The 98 Malibu has a light sensor that automatically turns on the head lights when it senses a low light condition. Unless there is sufficient light from some other source directed at this sensor, the head lights will not turn off when you turn them off using the switch on the dash panel. They will only go off when the head light switch is in the lights off position and the car is shut off.The only other way to turn the headlights off while the vehicle is running in low-light conditions, is to set the parking brake prior to starting the vehicle. This will prevent both Headlights and Day-Time Running lights from turning on when the vehicle is running.

When do you turn off your headlights?
