I have almost wasted a day on mine.

1)You need to run Windows XP do \I had to dig out an old PC and load XP.

2)you need to set MANUAL ip addresses. Set the computer to 192.168.0.x and the gateway & DNS to 192.168.0.1 (x= anything between 2 & 255)

3)Use the netgear recovery utility and an appropriate netgear .img file in the recovery utility folder

4)ensure you have >1 network card in the computer (the microsoft auto loopback will do or those with only one card) There is a BUG in the netgear recovery software which drove me nuts for hours. If you have only one Nic then the program appears to work but then hangs. You have to select 1 out of >1 Nics!!!!

5)Power on the brick with the reset depressed which should reseult in the power and 'tick' leds alternately flashing. Plug in network cable to pc set with above ip addresses and run recovery software.

I hope this helps. t least I have got my spare router back.
