This sounds crazy but just hit it again. I was working a large 1080p LCD at a trade show and for 2 days all was OK with the second screen. My clients laptop apparently got a little overloaded and the video card was glitchy causing the LCD to go blank. I could go from the laptop to the LCD at will with just hitting ALT F5. Good Luck.
