first you can start by downloading the free version of avg antivirus from www.grisoft.com (this will involve a hassle free registration process after which you will be given the download link and the installation serial no thru your email) after installing avg antivirus make sure u update it and then do a full scan of your machine all the while keeping a close watch on the location of the file or alternatively you can do an isolated scan of suspect files , pinpoint the exact location of the truant file and then remove it either in normal mode or if this doesn't work get into safe mode and delete the file ... this should do the trick...run avg antivirus again and ur problem should be solved ...
Avg find and deleted or quarantines the virus . But you need to be sure your antivirus is updated regularly
Antivirus is a program that detects, prevents, and takes action to remove viruses, worms and Trojans. The antivirus programs such as AVG,Avast or immunet detects and remove the virus.
use the avg antivirus scanner (free) to clean it out (scan and let it remove it). No biggy, I just formatted my c drive and that fixd all my problems. ps: I was unabel to delete the file, with AVG,or any thing else for that matter.
ESET NOD32 doesnt have its "remove tool" so u have to uninstall by ur own uninstall, such as "your unintaller 2008",which can delete its registry, file, and located folder, then reboot, and install AVG.OK
What I did was I downloaded AVG 6.0 antivirus program from downloads.com. I ran a search and found the file that the atartpage.5.ak virus was attached too. AVG wasnt able to delete it. I then proceeded to change the file name to Virus with no tag. Then ran the AVG program again. I guess the change of the filename changed the registry of that file and AVG was able to get rid of it. I re-named it virus without any extensions, but AVG still could not get rid of it. So run Windows in Safe Mode. You can then delete it and remove it from the re-cycle bin. Hi Rob I found by turning off system restore, and then rebooting, and then running avg, I have got rid of it,I hope,it has not showed up again Regards Charlie AVG Antivirus removed it from my W98SE system without any hassle, so presumably the later virus AVG sig updates will deal with it OK.

When you moved the file to the AVG Virus Vault it was deleted from its original location, coded, and then saved in a non-executable file in a hidden folder. Your PC is no longer infected. If you are not missing any data file and your applications are running, then you can delete these vaulted files from the AVG Virus Vault. You can do it selectively: from AVG Virus Vault program-> select files -> right click on the selection -> Delete file(s).Or you can delete all AVG Virus Vault contents in one go: Open the AVG Control Center program -> right click on AVG Virus Vault component -> choose"Empty vault".
AVG 2014 can remove sality, I have removed it using AVG, it takes time to delete this virus, but it does remove it completely. you may have to compromise with setup files of your softwares.
I had the same question. My AVG AntiVirus program said that it detected the Downloader.Swizzor tojan in the Kodak EasyShare update file from 2006-12-25, and in the bin/easyshare.exe program file. However, No, evidently AVG AntiVirus is wrong. A certain version of the AVG database incorrectly identified several benign programs as containing Swizzor when they don't.
no its not the virus comes back up again look up .the file location and delete it urself and then delete from virus vault
