Why helium is a inert gas?

If no electrons are available to react, then it's very difficult to get it to react (in this case bond with) other molecules.

Argon has completely filled orbitals / energy levels. It has 8 valence electrons with stable electronic configuration. Hence it is chemically inert, generally donot form compounds under normal conditions and exists as mono atomic species.

The reason why argon gas can not be used in the air is becasue the gas has sutch a strong smell that if you went in the room with argon gas it would suffocate you
