How do you use socket wrench?
Depends on what you are needing it for. First you should determine what size socket wrench [ratchet] to use. If using a small socket in a small place, try either a 1/4" or 3/8" drive ratchet.Second will see a square piece on the head of the ratchet. You take the socket, and match the two squares together.(Note: On some ratchets, you may simply be able to push the socket on, while others, there may be a small circle on the opposite side of the socket wrench. You have to push this in, while pushing the socket onto the square, and, when the socket is in place, release the circle. This attaches the socket to the socket wrench safely, so that it does not come loose while in use).Now, if you are tightening the bolt/nut, you push the lever on the back of the head of the socket wrench to the LEFT. If you are loosening, you push the lever to the RIGHT. (Remember it like ON/OFF. On [Left], Off [Right]).After setting the socket wrench, you place the socket on the nut/bolt, you turn the socket wrench to the left if tightening, and right if loosening. (When you turn it, you should hear a clicking noise. Then when you begin to tighten/loosen it, it will stop clicking).Hope this helps!

When you are looking from the side of the van, at the front of the motor with the belt, it will be the second pulley from the left near the top of the motor. It is a spring loaded type which requires you to pull against the spring so you can install the belt. I use a good socket wrench with a 1' extension (3/8" socket wrench will fit in the square hole you can see in the tensioner arm) and a large enough box wrench to fit over the socket wrench handle to help get the needed leverage with one hand, and because of the limited space you have to position the socket wrench.

because the bolt is tight with an adjustable wrench and usually an adjustable wrench isn't strong enough so I would use a socket wrench but if the socket wrench doesn't get the nut loose for you then try a skateboard key (skate tool) to loosen the nut but if that doesn't work I don't know what to tell you other then to visit a skatepark because they will explain why the nut wont come off

(It is probably metric, so you may need to buy a set of metric sockets or wrenches.) Or just use an adjustable wrench. An adjustable wrench has the nasty habit of rounding the corners off a bolt if it is set too big, though. I don't want this to sound rude, but if you have to ask this question perhaps you shouldn't be changing your oil...

Honestly, a 1/2 in. impact wrench, with the impact socket that fits the nut. Could be a 28mm,30mm,32mm... or so. Use a torque wrench to install the new nut--over tightening can lead to bearing damage. Don't forget to punch the notch in on the nut to lock it in place. Use a new nut if possible. There's only about 90 lb-ft of torque on one of these nuts, so a socket on an 18" breaker bar works fine.
