The coroner performed an autopsy on the dead body found in the penthouse.A coroner investigates the cause of death. An autopsy is an examination of parts of dead bodies to determine the cause of death.synonym: post-mortem
It would be up to the coroner or medical examiner to make that determination. I've seen cases where there was an autopsy, and I've also seen cases where the body is viewed but not autopsied by the medical examiner.
His wife confirmed it was his body. They also performed DNA tests.

The difference between an external examination and an autopsy is that an external evaluation is where they only evaluate the outside of the body and an autopsy is where they open up the chest and examine inside the body. Hope this helped
No autopsies are not performed on each person who dies this would be impossiable. An autopsy is usually performed when the events leading to death are unclear, such as murders or foul play is suspected. Autopsies are also done on people to determine things such as how the cancer affected the body (or any other disease that more research would help to improve medical care.) Families can also request an autopsy to be done but then they would have to pay all costs involved which can be very expensive. IT IS A STATE LAW THAT THEY BE PERFORMED ON EACH PERSON THAT DIES OR UPON THE DEATH OF ANYONE.
The toxicology report detects drugs. This is performed concurrently with an autopsy, but the results may take a few days to receive.
Autopsy.
An autopsy couldn't be held in "The Westing Game" because Sam Westing specifically requested that no autopsy be performed on his body. This request was included in his will and legally had to be followed.
Yes. An exhumation order can be made by a court and the body can be taken away for examination. However, certain funerary practices, such as embalming, and the length of time for which the body has been buried, can affect the 'value' of any information which an autopsy might yield.
