You need to install a codec pack for DVDs to play in Windows Media Player. You can generally find a codec pack from either Roxio or Cyberlink for under $20.
You may be missing some codex in your Windows Media player. You can try uninstalling and reinstalling your Windows Media player to correct the problem.
Add the files you downloaded to Windows Media Player, and do it from there. The files have to be compatible with Windows Media Player.
i know you can use windows media player to burn music to blank cds so i think it can also burn video files to dvds. if it cant then you can watch the video files on windows media player.
You can get a DVD or DVD-RW and burn it from windows media player.

Use VLC Media Player instead of Windows Media Player and you have that issue solved.

Click "Burn" while watching that video.
You have to rip the DVD's first before you can play them.
It does not have the ability to deal with DVD, you need download the corresponding plugin and codec. Or you can try the other DVD player software.
