first, you need to go to Verdanturf, where Wally lives with his Aunt and Uncle. To get there, go to Mauville, then when facing the gym, go left. And keep walking. But when you get to Verdanturf you will see a tent that is arch-shaped. Go in, and talk to the lady behind the desk. She will issue you a contest pass. Then you talk to her again and enter a contest. To go to contests in Slateport, or somewhere like that, you need to win first in Verdanturf, then get first in Fallabour, and then you can go to Slateport. But you must win the same Pokemon each time.

You need to take into account all of these -
Rarity - Pinsor, Scythor, Beedrill, Butterfree are the best.
Level of HP - Just throw the ball and don't lower its health.
Stats - Depends on rarity and level.
Level - Higher then level 15 is good.
For example a level 20 scythor with full health would definatly win.
I won with a level 17 caterpie with full health.

∙ 12y agofor a tough contest, find and catch a Mawile from the victory road. it should be around level 40. train it a few levels and it should try to learn iron defence, stockpile, spit up, and swallow. keep all of those moves with it. if you max out its tough rating with yellow pokeblocks, you should then use, in this order, stockpile, spit up, stock pile, swallow, iron defence. with that combination, you should easily be able to win the master rank contest.
for beauty, (sorry, but this is the only other one i can guarantee) what i did is max out the beauty rating on my azumarill. i then taught it surf, waterfall, and dive. i always started out at the bottom of the list, so i used waterfall to get a lot of points. then at the top of the list, i used dive to protect me. used surf to make a combo and hope its when you "get the crowd going". that will get you even more points. just finish the contest with that combo again.
