you have to tap into the coil wires the negative wire on the coil plug.
The Chevy starter does not have a ground wire, the starter grounds through the starter casing.
The starter needs a large wire from the battery and a wire from the starter switch. These are connected to the solenoid that is attached to the starter.
first locate the starter in front of your enging under the exhaust and there should be a heat guard with three bolt and 2 for the starter top be disengaged and then take off the connecting wire to your solinoid attached to your starter and be careful not to let the starter fall

There is 2 bolts on the top that you have to remove, and one underneath, and one electrical plug, and one wire that goes to the starter. Good luck.
