you have to tap into the coil wires the negative wire on the coil plug.
The Chevy starter does not have a ground wire, the starter grounds through the starter casing.
first locate the starter in front of your enging under the exhaust and there should be a heat guard with three bolt and 2 for the starter top be disengaged and then take off the connecting wire to your solinoid attached to your starter and be careful not to let the starter fall

it is located on the front of the engine behind the fan at the lower part of the engine i just had one replaced it is long and round with one wire on it you can miss it

There are only 2 wires to worry about: 1 big wire that comes from the battery that goes to the big post of the solenoid and a small one that comes from the ignition switch. GM had a recall on these and installed a relay in the smaller wire before it connects to the solenoid. You are probably confused because of that. If you but a aftermarket part, it comes with a wire lead to use if the recall was not done on your car. Read the literature that came with the starter and it should explain.

lacking of oil to the cylinder possibly, distributers can also be a factor...... also dont forget to check the simple things such as spark plugs or any loose wire connections
The solonoid should be under the car by the starter. Just follow the positive battery wire down to the starter.
