One cause would be a cold spark which means you have either a loose coil wire or a bad coil.

what kind of power wire?(a power wire for an amp maybe) what kind of power wire?(a power wire for an amp maybe)
You probably have a loose wire and when you put it in gear the engine tilts and comes in contact with your loose wire
get a pice of wire set it to the cooling relay switch run it under the hood to the door get a switch from auto zone connect it and your done
...it's located on the bottom of the oil pan, held in by a screw....not hard to miss once you look and see the wire connection to it.
It'll be above the transmission output, and it'll be two wires... don't remember specifically, but black and white are the norm.
Reach under the front of your car between the radiator and the grill and pull the wire down. That will unhook your hood latch. Replace the cable.
i have the 1992 3800se with that same wire... don't worry its an aux. hookup used for diagnostics
