A "chunk" paragraph is just a way of developing your skill in writing - it is a style or format which forces you to explain your ideas and arguments. Here's you do "chunk" writing:
- Write your topic sentence.
- Write a concrete detail (CD) about this sentence - this will be some sort of evidence, an example, a definition - any specific fact about the topic.
- Write your commentary (CM) about that detail - this is where you explain how the detail explains the topic, and where you give your opinions and ideas.
- Keep alternating CD and CM until you have written down all of your facts and opinions.
- Write a concluding sentence which restates the topic and "wraps up" the paragraph - this can also lead into the next paragraph if you are doing a longer report.
