Emancipation is the act of legally making a juvenile an adult. This usually happens automatically at 18, so unless you are subject to some ... unusual circumstance, you have no need for emancipation.

Typically, emancipation is a legal process where a minor is granted the rights of an adult before reaching the age of majority. This process can vary by state, but generally involves showing financial independence, maturity, and the ability to live independently. At 23 years old, a person is already legally an adult and does not need to go through the emancipation process.

Can a pregnant 17 year old move out with a 23 year old in ilinois?

No. At 17 she is still a minor even though she is having a baby. Legally, that doesn't make her an adult. If she was legally emancipated she could, but that is a legal process that requires a lawyer and to go before a judge.

Can you apply for social services if your baby father is almost 23 and your an emanstipated 15 year old?

A judge emancipated a 15-year-old pregnant child/mother? Really? Where did that occur? And I ask this, because I suspected that you believe you're emancipated when in fact you are not, because given your age and situation there is no way that you met the requirements for emancipation. Well, not if you're in US, but maybe you're in another country?

What can a parent legally do if they suspect their 17 year olds 23 year old girlfriend is a drug addict?

Unless the 17 year old son is an emancipated minor, he is still subject to the rules and discipline of his parents. If he is still a minor and having sex with the 23 year old she can be charged with child, or statutory, rape. Or, she could be reported as contributing to the delinquency of a minor. You're undoubtedly right to be concerned about this, but don't expect your son to thank you for this interference in his life

In the state of Virginia can a 16-year-old marry a 23-year-old with guardian consent or if they are emancipated?

Virginia: If either of you are under 18 years of age, you must have written, notarized consent from a parent or your legal guardian. Regarding marriage of an emancipated minor--according to a pamphlet published by the Virginia State Bar: "A minor who has been judicially emancipated does not need consent of a parent or guardian to marry." (NOTE: For others reading this, that is not the case in every state. In some states, even if a minor is emancipated, they still must have parental consent in order to get married.) Are you already emancipated? If not, and your only purpose for becoming emancipated is to be allowed to marry...well, you would still have to meet all the requirements for emancipation.
