This answer is for the "greenhouse effect" -

It works by the co2 build up and slowly destroying the ozone layers causing a increase in temperature. So the more factories and cars produce co2 the more hotter it will get.

A real greenhouse is just a building with transparent walls and roof that allows sunlight in but blocks much of the normal heat loss.

A greenhouse is a building constructed entirely of windows. The glass freely admits sunlight, allowing the greenhouse to warm up during the day, and at night the glass retains heat because it is opaque to infrared radiation. The interior of the greenhouse therefore remains warm, even in cold weather.

What happens as a result of the greenhouse effect?

We stay warm and survive. The greenhouse effect works like this. We get light energy from the sun. When that light energy hits the earth's surface, it turns into heat energy. The earth then heats up the atmosphere and the "greenhouse gases" hold this heat in keeping us warm. If not for the greenhouse effect, the earth's temperature would be about -160o C.
