Midwives need to know about the structure of the vagina and they need to know how dialaited the cervix needs to be for the baby to come out. They need to know how to handle the baby which science teaches you they need to know what position the baby needs to be in and how the head and spine is placed.

Applied science is used during midwifery as they need to know about the babies body and the health of both the mother and baby.
