ANSWER:Water will move anything that can be moved by the force of the water. Its called erosion. It can move the small particles of sand and dirt makind mud and larger objects like rocks or stones and trees as well. Water will move this group of particles and the result will be the eroding of the stream or river basin to deepen the waterway and deposit it in a delta at the end of the river. Water, even without the extra erosive particles can cut solid rock.

It can also be due to rubbish being caried through the river
