A squirrel cage rotor is the rotating part often used in an AC induction motor. An electric motor with a squirrel cage rotor is sometimes called a squirrel cage motor.
a squrriel cage works by following the magnetic field in a 3 phase synchronous motor called ammortisurr winding.
Synchronous motors must use other types of rotors although they may employ a squirrel cage winding to allow them to reach near-synchronous speed while starting. Once operating at synchronous speed, the magnetic field is rotating at the same speed as the rotor, so no current will be induced into the squirrel cage windings and they will have no further effect on the operation of the synchronous motor.

- connect 3 phase to synchronous stator
- connect DC to synchronous rotor - when this is connected it is 100%
- then engage clutch to run motor

This is two separate proceedures: a) squirrel cage b) coils. Both parts should be cleaned with an antimicrobial solution. Doing so requires the parts to be removed. Properly cleaning the coils requires experience with freon lines. If you are an ammature, I would recommend you contact an expert to clean the coils. Squirrel Cage: 1) Turn of the power at the breaker. 2) Remove the squirrel cage / blower motor assembly. 3) Seperate the motor. 4) Remove the squirrel cage. 5) Cleaning: spray with antimicrobial solution, wait for it to turn white (foamy), hose down with pressure from a garden hose. 6) Reassemble: Be careful not to damage or bend the blades. I you bend it, you will need to buy another one. Coils: Basic Wisdom: If you have to ask for instructions, you probably should not perform the task. If you want to do a light cleaning without removing the coil, use a brush attachment on a good shop vac, then reassemble carefully. Full cleaning requires removal of the coils (disconnect power at main breaker). 1) Capture freon in the condensor. 2) Cut freon line. 3) Remove coil and wash with antimicrobial solution. 4) Reinstall coil, connect freon line then test for pressure and leaks.
