One of the ways it can affect the heart is because there is less Oxygenated blood being pumped from the lungs due to less Oxygen entering the body. This can therfore cause the heart to have to beat harder and faster to adequately supply the body with Oxygen. This is tiring for the heart and can sometimes cause irregular pulse patterns.

Because of the need to breath by homsapiens, the lack of oxygen forces the blood to pump less oxigenated blood or not pump at all. Without oxygen the body begins to break down and die with the brain beginning to die within 4 minutes of not having oxygen. The heart with not have necessary nutrients or energy to pump as well.

With Asthma, there can be airway constriction, or inflamation. Both of these, together or separate, affect the amount of oxygen your body receives. Once your body starts receiving less oxygen your body starts to compensate. How it does that is pump the blood faster so the body can get more of the normal amount of oxygen it needs to function properly. When the heart starts pumping the blood faster, it makes the persons blood pressure rise because the heart is overcompensating for the loss of oxygen.

Directly, asthma affects the lungs, via inflammation and constriction of the airways. The coughing can then cause headaches, sore throats, and other problems.
