Two principal integrity rules for the relational model?

Integrity Rules Although integrity rules are not part of normal forms, they are definitely part of the database design process. Integrity rules are broken into two categories. They include overall integrity rules and database-specific integrity rules. == The two types of overall integrity rules are referential integrity rules and entity integrity rules. Referential integrity rules dictate that a database does not contain orphan foreign key values. This means thatEntity integrity dictates that the primary key value cannot be Null. This rule applies not only to single-column primary keys, but also to multi-column primary keys. In fact, in a multi-column primary key, no field in the primary key can be Null. This makes sense because, if any part of the primary key can be Null, the primary key can no longer act as a unique identifier for the row. Fortunately, the Access Database Engine (Access 2007's new version of the JET database engine, available with the new ACCDB file format) does not allow a field in a primary key to be Null.Database-Specific Rules The other set of rules applied to a database are not applicable to all databases but are, instead, dictated by business rules that apply to a specific application. Database-specific rules are as important as overall integrity rules. They ensure that only valid data is entered into a database. An example of a database-specific integrity rule is that the delivery date for an order must fall after the order date.

Why and how could you apply critical thinking when evaluating articles advertisingmedia and conversations?

Applying Critical Thinking! What a wonderful thing that we humans have the capacity to apply critical thinking when we make choices. And what a shame that we so rarely use our capacity to make good choices. Is it because the advertizing media is so convincing? Is it because we are lazy? Or is it because critical thinking is such a complicated undertaking? I would think it is all three. We do not apply our thinking because it is easier to follow someone else's decision. For thinking takes effort. Logical thinking, evaluating the pros and cons when making a decision, is both a complicated and lengthy effort. It implies that we have to separate the choices we make from our personal predilection and, by weighing the pros and cons, must base them solely on the predictable or hoped-for outcome. For example when we buy a car, we should make a decision based on price (not payments), on fuel ecomomy in the city (we seldom use it exclusively on highways), and size (we do not need an SUV when we are a two-person family). There are probably more considerations that I have not touched on. I will usually suggest that you apply critical thinking to any major purchase like a car or a home. As far as conversations are concerned, if you are with friends, mistakes bear few consequences, especially if you are among friends who will correct your thinking without being demeaning. How do you apply critical thinking skills in reading and writing as a student in health care?

The question of how to apply critical thinking is a big one. You may find resources at your library, school or institution which can give you more comprehensive guidelines to applying critical thinking to your field of study.I believe critical thinking in any field involves looking past first impressions or obvious lines of thought, to broader possibilities.Look at the reading from the perspective of all characters/situations involved.Explore your thoughts about the reading if you agreed with the point of view; what if you disagreed. How would you support both these possible views.Imagine you are reading or writing from all sides of a debate.Once you have started organising your thoughts into an essay (or other task), you may find that you want to expand on, or further research, some of the points you have thought of.For me, critical thinking means looking at possibilities and deepening your understanding, as opposed to regurgitating or believing information as it is presented to you.

Why and how can you apply critical thinking to articles?

Critical thinking is not that simple a subject, and I cannot present it to you that easily, but I do recommend that you read the book "The Demon Haunted World" by Carl Sagan, which is the best guide that I know of, to the subject of critical thinking. Other than that, just remember that any assertions made in any article may or may not be true, and you should always ask yourself if these assertions make sense and are consistent with other things that you know.
