Forests sequester carbon. Deforestation means the timber may be used and eventually converted to carbon dioxide, or left to rot, which also means that it is converted to carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas responsible for global warming. Either way, deforestation contributes to the global warming process.

As the average global temperature rises, we begin to see changes in the world's climate. Sea levels rise, beach erosion becomes more serious, coastal areas are gradually inundated, drought and flood patterns become more severe, and more intense storms are experienced.

Deforestation contributes less to these processes than do the use of coal and oil, or the manufacture of cement, but that contribution is still significant.

Vegetation through photosynthesis removes carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. So deforestation, which means the cutting down and destruction of forests, means the trees will no longer remove carbon. Carbon dioxide then builds up in the atmosphere, where, as a greenhouse gas, it retains the heat from the sun. More and more gas is causing global warming which will affect the global climate.

Deforestation as in the Amazon basin for example results in many negative things.

* Less Carbon changed to Oxygen and more Carbon released when the burning

occurs.

* Weather pattern is changed in deforested area. Gets hotter and drier. Smoke

from burning cuts down on cumulus cloud and thunderstorm development.

* Many species of birds, insects and other critters no longer have a home and re

are forced to compete until they are reduced in numbers.

* Any heavy rains (which will still develop after the smoke clears), will result in

strong runoff and erosion.

* The soil in the runoff results in silting in of rivers negatively impacting fish in

in nearby bodies of water and animals that depend on the fish. Plant species

could also be killed.

Are there any positive effects? Not many perhaps increased farmland or grazing land, but that takes time for the soil to adapt to a different use. Change would be down the road. Way down the road.

It can affect the earth the planet you said but is still the same so let get back to the question. The deforestation can effect by making the animals get mad so let say it going to affect it by making our health wurst and the air we breath. So if you see that in your city or in your childhood so if you see they are about to cute a tree fight for it so you will breath well and your family

air is composed of different gases like carbon dioxide,etc...and deforestation means cutting of trees..so if you cut the trees, as you all know, trees absorbs carbon dioxide in order to grow, the tendency is that, it will result to global warming and makes our air very polluted..and we cannot let ourselves breathe polluted air that causes many diseases..

Trees make the air that we breathe. No trees = no air which means everything dies

Deforestation causes ecological imbalance.
The rate of transpiration decreases which affect water cycle.
