While physics at it's most basic level, the actual burning of fire is typically considered to be chemistry. However the rising flames and their shape may easily be categorized as physics. It will also describe the heat transfer to fresh fuel, before that begins burning. The rising smoke from fire is even said to have inspired Daniel Bernoulli to create his physical principles of things like laminar flow.
