Gravity does not effect mass,

weight is what you get when you resist the effects of gravity.

(Note that in "free fall" and/or "micro gravity" you are not resisting.)

gravity is what makes objects fall

How does gravity affect skiing?

it makes you fall on your face

How does gravity make things fall?

The weight of the object causes gravity to take the object falling

Why an astronaut in a space shuttle feels weightless?

"Weight" happens when the attraction of gravity on a mass is resisted, we only FEEL the weight when we are resisting gravity. Weightlessness therefore happens when gravity is not resisted - when you are in "free-fall".In a space when you are in orbit round the Earth, you are effectively in "free-fall" and therefore as you are not resisting gravity you are weightless (but not massless).

How might microgravity environments be created?

if you toss a coin in the air you are subjecting that coin to microgravity. When an experiment is in a NASA Glenn Research Center drop tower, the experiment is subjected to microgravity for about 2 or 5 seconds. When experiments and/or people are flown on a parabolic-trajectory aircraft, they experience a microgravity environment also. When astronauts, cosmonauts, and experiments are on the Int'l Space Station, they also experience a microgravity environment. All three effects are due to a condition of free fall, where the only significant force upon the person or experiment is gravity. The only real difference between the three conditions is the horizontal velocity and altitude.

How does gravity affect FIRECRACKERS?

It makes them fall down, just as it makes many other things fall down.

When it rains why does it fall?

Because of gravity! And also because of the weight of the water droplets.

What is gravity and how does it affect gravity?

The force of attraction by which terrestrial bodies tend to fall toward the center of the earth. The formula for gravity is g=9.8m/s^2

What are two word asosiated with gravity?

Heavy, fall, down, up, weight etc.

If you were to weigh yourself in an elevator that is in free fall would you weigh more?

Free fall means the upward acceleration of air resistance cancels out the downward acceleration of gravity, leaving only your mass. If you're confused about the difference between mass and weight: Weight = (mass) * (gravity (9.8 m/s^2)) Mass = weight/gravity

Does the area of a piece of paper affect the time taken for it to fall to the ground?

yes it does affect....more the area of the paper, more is its weight.... more the weight,it falls faster on the grnd due to acc. due to gravity....

What anastronaut working in Space near the International space station says she feel weightless. What does she mean Does the astronaut no have weight?

It actually means that the astronaut is in free fall, and doesn't FEEL gravity. Gravity does affect the astronaut, so the astronaut will still be accelerated towards Earth. However, the astronaut won't feel the gravity.
