they move with four legs.and run and stuff like that.and if u need to know more then when they walk there is 4 beats,when they trot they use diagnals which meen when the right front leg and left hind leg go forward the left front and right back are behind.during cantering or,loping, in the front one leg is in front of the other and same in back.when galloping or,running,all hooves,or feet,touch then come off the ground afterwards.as u can tell im a horse person,ALOT!if u have any more ? then ask em!you can call me horsegirl # 1

Walk - 4 beats, the horse lifts one leg off the ground at a time.

Trot - 2 beats, the horse lifts two legs at a time. These are called 'diagonal pairs'. The opposite legs move together e.g. Left front and right hind, then right front and left hind.

Canter - 3 beats. The horse moves the legs together, but they have a leading leg If they are on the correct canter lead then the inside front leg wil stretch out further than the outside front leg.

Gallop - I will number the legs for this. Front left ~ 1, Front right ~ 2, Hind left ~ 3, Hind right ~ 4.

Well for the walk a horse will step out left hind, left front, right hind , right front.
