That is quite simple if you think about it carefully. The tectonic plates are giants lumps of rock under the earth and when they move slightly they can create huge earthquakes. Millions of years ago when there was one big continent there was a massive earthquake basically and the continent split up into many smaller ones.
Pangea was what Earth was until all the continents separated.
They both are related because they both show evidence that the continents moved.
the earth was upset
It is when the continents went apart
The relationship of continental drift and plate tectonics is that the plate tectonics move and are under the ground and the continental drift is on the top of earth...
Continental drift is explained by the science of plate tectonics.
Plate tectonics describes the motion of the Earth's lithosphere which brings about continental drift due to convection currents.
The continental drift theory was replaced by the theory of plate tectonics.

It is called the theory of plate tectonics.
Plate tectonics is the theory of continental drift. As Pangaea is what scientists and geologistsbase continental drift on (as it was the original cluster formation of all continents), they are very closely related and usually are within the same field of study.
plate tectonics
Continental drift is explained by the science of plate tectonics.
Plate tectonics describes the motion of the Earth's lithosphere which brings about continental drift due to convection currents.

The continental drift theory was replaced by the theory of plate tectonics.
The idea of continental drift has been subsumed by the theory of plate tectonics.
Seafloor spreading is caused by two plates moving apart. This is caused by plate tectonics. Continental drift is also caused by plate tectonics. Therefore, we can conclude that continental drift is related to seafloor spreading. When the plates move, it carries the continents with it, and thus the continents drift away from each other.
Yes. The theory of plate tectonics is very broad, and it covers seafloor spreading, continental drift, plate boundaries and so on.
