Because humans don't think about the consequences of their actions. We don't care about where our plastic goes when we throw it away, we just want it gone and out of the way. We all hear about plastic pollution, but we all think that we are not to blame. Mankind needs to sort this problem out and soon.

If plastic is dropped down drain grates in streets then it goes straight out to sea, here sea animals may choke on it. this is pushing many sea creatures close to extinction (sea turtle, etc) then the rubbish with either get washed up on the beach where many beach life, such as pengins, seagulls, etc, choke on it, and it ruins our beach habitats. Plastic takes around 100,000 years to decompose. If plastics are not recycled then this mess will stack up. Rubbish lets off carbon dioxide and other gases that contribute to global warming. this has a major affect on our enviroment.

no,actually plastics are not wastefull ,after usage they can be used again and again ,we must recycle them properly.plastics after usage can be melted and shaped into different new products, this process can be repeated to make good use of those plastics .so plastics are never a waste ,people throw them like a waste ,but they are used in many other operation after using them first,on the other hand ,the most important thing ,if we are making use of same plastics through recycling ,then we are protecting our environment from the adverse effect of the plastics
