Perhaps you don't understand the meaning of positive and negative feedback. Positive feedback keeps adding to a process. Negative feedback doesn't.

If a person fills a bathtub, positive feedback will continue the filling even if it runs over. Negative feedback will turn the water off when the tub is filled. So, negative feedback maintains homeostasis. Homeostasis means "steady state". When a processes is completed, it turns it off. Example: Blood sugar levels remain in a certain range.

What is An exponential change away from equilibrium in an attempt to maintain homeostasis?

Positive feedback

Is insulin negative feedback or positive feedback?

Insulin is a hormone produced by the beta cells in the pancreatic islets of Langerhans that stimulates glycolysis and increase glucose uptake in muscle and adipose tissue; therefore, it maintain homeostasis in the body by decreasing blood sugar level when it is high. It shows a negative feedback because the response negates the stimulus to maintain homeostasis.

What are the 4 conditions of homeostasis?

Four things that need to be maintained for homeostasis in the body is internal regulation, the ability to regulate pH. levels, regulation of blood pressure and regulation of glucose levels. Homeostasis overall is the balance of things that makes an organism well.

What is the difference between positive feedback and negative feedback?

Positive feedback speeds up reactions while negative feedback slows them down. Positive feedback goes with the force that put the body out of homeostasis in order to get it over faster. For example, during childbirth, the body goes with it in order to get it over faster so that the body can return to homeostasis. On the other hand, negative feedback opposes the action. For example if your body temperature drops, your receptors in your body send a message to your brain to tell it your cold. Your brain then sends a message to your muscles to shiver to help warm you up.

Is thermoregulation in humans regulated through positive or negative feedback systems?

Thermoregulation relies on negative feedback. Negative feedback works to return a system to homeostasis by reducing a stimulus, such as a change in temperature. By contrast, positive feedback systems amplify or speed up a response.

That's negative feedback. Positive feedback ruins homeostasis.

How do the organs maintain homeostasis?

it is important for our body to maintain homeostasis(constant internal environment). there are 3 components.receptor which receives the change then it is transferred to the control center (mostly brain),which makes a correct response which will be send to the effector organ. It is maintained by either positive or negative feedback mechanism.

How is positive and negative feedback similar?

They are both major components to completing homeostasis.

Are positive feedback and negative feedback both components of homeostasis?

No, negative feedback is the primary homeostatic mechanism regulating the endocrine system. Positive feedback is used much less frequently.

How does the endocrine system use feedback loops to maintian homeostasis?

There are many endocrine systems. An endocrine system is one where a gland excretes substances internally or to a surface such as the skin. Both salivary glands and sweat glands are two such systems. It may seem picky to make this distinction but each system uses its own feedback to achieve homeostasis (equilibrium). There are several types off feedback loop such as "mechanical circuits" (sweat cooling skin to slow this process) or by nervous or hormonal systems. edit: Neither salivary glands nor sweat glands are apart of the endocrine system. Both are exocrine.

Which feedback mechanisms maintain equilibrium of systems like turgor pressure temperature and chemical reactions?

both negative and positive feedback
