The only difference between the way a fluid exerts pressure and the way a solid does is that a fluid flows into any available space, and so it exerts pressure very evenly. If you want a more detailed analysis, ultimately physical matter exerts pressure by means of the electrostatic repulsion between electrons.

Turn an opened plastic bottle of washing-up liquid upside down. The liquid will drip out of the bottle as it is only under the force of gravity, and held back by the suction of the bottle. Press forcefully on the plastic bottle, and the liquid will squirt out of the bottle - simple because you have applied a force (pressure) on the bottle. A garden hose-pipe shows the same. With the water tap slightly open the flow of water is a dribble. Fully open the tap and the flow, due to pressure from the mains water system, jets the water much further, even reaching the far side of the garden.

Why are you not crushed under atmospheric pressure?

The fluids in your body exert pressure and prevent the atmospheric pressure from closing in. Fluids exert pressure on a container the particles collide with each other and the sides of the container.

How do fluids exert pressure on a container?

Fluids are constantly trying to spread out, and that exerts pressure on the container you put it in.

Why you are not crushed by atomspheric pressure?

The fluids in your body also exert pressure.

Fluids exert pressure because they are made up of tiny?

a. moving molecules that exert forces.

What sphincter that opens when food or fluids exert pressure on it?

The sphincter that opens when food or fluids exert pressure on it is the gastroesophageal sphincter. Closure of the sphincter is under the control of the vagus nerve.

How do fluids exert exert pressure?

All of the forces exerted by the individual particles in a fluid combine to make up the pressure exerted by the fluid.

Why do fluid create pressure?

Fluids have a higher density than air and therefore exert more pressure than air.

Gravity causes water other fluids and air to have weight and thus to exert pressure?

Yes.

Why does fluid pressure exists?

Because liquids/fluids have mass, and the earth has gravity. Everything has pressure, even air, we are just always under the pressure of air so we don't notice it.. by M. Smith

What spincter opens when food or fluids exert pressure on it?

Esophageal, duodenal, urethral, and anal would all seem to fit that description.

Why does your head not get crushed with atmospheric pressure?

Like the air inside a baloon, the fluids inside your body exert pressure. This pressure inside your body acts against atmospheric pressure. I was looking for the answer for a school assignment! Textbooks help!

Do fluids exert friction?

Certain fluids, especially liquids, do exert internal friction. This property of the fluid is called viscosity. Rheology is known as the study of viscosity.
