Depends on the transmission. Many transmission bands are not adjustable.

If the vehicle has the 4 cylinder engine it has a 125C 3 speed automatic transaxle. If the vehicle has the V6 it can have the 125C 3 speed automatic transaxle or the optional 440T4 Automatic Overdrive transmission. I found no reference to a procedure to adjust the bands for either transaxle in my 1989 factory service manual.
