How does the book of James relate to today?

The Letter of James answers some of life's difficult questions which are still relevant today; such as which is the true religion, and which is fake? Why do I have so many temptations and hardships? What is the relationship between faith and good works? James, the half brother of Jesus, wrote a troubled group of Jewish believers to help them understand how to distinguish true faith in Christ from insincere faith. He called on them to endure persecution to live out true religion. James shows trials and temptations develop true faith, faith is the starting point of true religion and leads to equal treatment for all people, true religion is known by its wise tongue (Ch. 3), true religion shows itself in daily good works motivated by humility not selfishness, true religion devotes itself to prayer for others and confession of sins. James calls you to a life that shows the world true, humble, unselfish, loving religion.
