A location is just an area. Inland means away from the ocean and coastal means near the ocean.
the innermost parts are desert so not much vegetation grows. Though the coastal plain has nearby watr to help plant growth.
With coastal climate, the close proximity to the water evens out temperature swings and provides moisture. Continental climate can be dryer and see bigger differences in temperature.
The temperature would be warmer for a coastal city during winter than that of a interior city because the water around the coastal city helps keep it warm
Coastal plains are nearer to water therefore the temperature ranges will be smaller than those of interior plains because it will be warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer for coastal plains.
