Ones proteins are synthesized into the rough ER they undergo some modifications (folding, glycosylation) and then the mature, correctly folded proteins are passed to the Golgi apparatus via transport vesicles. Save

Firstly, ribosomes are a Protein Manufacture construct; they are not made for transport, with the following exception;

secondly, there are two types of ribosomal, newly synthesized proteins: one - those that, when after ribosomal construction is completed, are 'directedly' released 'toward their target-areas' into the cytoplasm; and those that are released into the intra-Smooth-Endoplasmic-Reticulum cavity, for direct distribution to various addressed destinations towards the Cell's extremities.

It doesn't. Some polypeptides are threaded right into the lumen of the ER from the ribosomes, but ribosomes " make " proteins by threading the mRNA through them while tRNA is bringing individual amino acids to the ribosome. The ER does modify proteins, generally with carbohydrates, while the proteins are in the ER.

The protein contains a molecular zip code that allows the protein to be shipped to the correct cellular compartment.

What arre endoplasmic reticulum?

The nucleolus makes ribosomes. Ribosomes make chemicals called proteins. The proteins go into the endoplasmic reticulum. The endoplasmic reticulum is like a conveyor belt. As the proteins move along the endoplasmic reticulum, they are changed a little bit. Then, when the proteins get to the end, they are sent away in a little sac.

Function of the rough endoplasmic reticulum?

rough endoplasmic reticulum has a function of the following:+it makes and processes proteins that are later distributed throughout the cell.

What do the ribosomes do on the rough endoplasmic reticulum?

they make proteins

What organelle acts as the highway to transport proteins?

endoplasmic reticulum

What is endoplasmic reticulum and ribosomes?

The ribosomes in a cell are the powerhouse of the cell; they make the proteins. The endoplasmic reticulum transports substances throughout the cell

What does rough endoplasmic reticulum compared to?

A factory to make proteins.

What is essentially rough endoplasmic reticulum and important metabolically?

The rough ER (Endoplasmic Reticulum) has ribosomes on it. The Smooth ER does not. Ribosomes synthesize or make proteins.

What prepares proteins for export and synthesizes steroids?

The rough endoplasmic reticulum

What organelle transports protein?

endoplasmic reticulum

What is the function of the rough endoplasmic reticulum in the mammalian cell?

Rough endoplasmic reticulum is studded with ribosomes, which make proteins. It makes proteins that are destined to leave the cell to go elsewhere, for example, proteins in a mothers breast mild.

What is the the function of the reticulum?

The endoplasmic reticulum is a packaging system. There is a rough and a smooth endoplasmic reticulum. The rough endoplasmic reticulum is important in the synthesis and packaging of proteins. The smooth endoplasmic reticulum is important in the creation and storage of steroids.

What is the difference between proteins made from free ribosomes and proteins made from rough endoplasmic reticulum?

Proteins made in rough endoplasmic reticulum are produced for export.
