The equation for cellular respiration is C6H12O6 + 6O2 --> 6CO2 + 6H2O + energy.
The equation for photosynthesis is 6H2O + 6CO2 + Light Energy -> C6H12O6 + 6O2.
Cellular respiration does not require light energy, and photosynthesis does.
Equation for cellular respiration.
C6H12O6 + 6O2 --> 6CO2 + 6H2O

Equation for photosynthesis.
6CO2 + 6H2O --> C6H12O6 + 6O2

Rather like exact opposites and why plants, who preform photosynthesis, are called autotrophs and many other organisms that preform cellular respiration are called heterotrophs. Of course plants have the best of both worlds as they also preform cellular respiration.
the ans isn't it obvious....it is actually opposite the reactants and the products are just opposite within two equation.
products of photosynthesis are oxygen and glucose. products of cellular respiration are carbon dioxide and glucose and also lactic acid
Cellular: Oxygen+Glucose= Carbon Dioxide + H2O + ATP
Photo: Co2+ H20 + Sunlight = Oxygen + Glucose
they both create something in the end the person before me had this stupid answer. look up:0
Photosynthesis is the process of converting light energy to chemical energy and storing it in the bonds of sugar. Cellular respiration is the process in which an organism breaks down fuel to capture energy in a usable form (ATP). So, the two processes cannot really be compared with respect to energy storage. Photosynthesis is an anabolic process (synthesis of glucose) while respiration is the catabolism of glucose to release the chemical bond energy of the glucose into an usable form (ATP).
photosynthesis and respiration are linked because they both involve the exchange of the gases; oxygen and carbon dioxide.
they are inverse/opposite each other
like respiration, fermentation begins in the cytoplasm. Again, as the glucose molecules are broken down, energy is released. But the simple molecules from the break down of glu- cose do not move into the mitochondria!!!
well ask yourself what does diffusion mean and compare it to cellular respiration and photosynthesis
they are they same. the products of photosynthesis are oxygen and glucose and the reactants of cellular respiration are gluose and oxygen.
they are they same. the products of photosynthesis are oxygen and glucose and the reactants of cellular respiration are gluose and oxygen.
They are basically reverse reactions of the other. Photosynthesis H2O + CO2 + Energy (light) --> Sugar + O2 Cellular Respiration Sugar + O2 --> H2O + CO2 + Energy (ATP)
To compare the equations for respiration an photosynthesis, you must first see what the equations are. Respiration- sugar + oxygen = carbon dioxide + water + engergy photosynthesis- carbon dioxide + water = light energy = sugar+ oxygen The difference between these two equations are, they seem to be backwards from each other. So they are flipped around, see how respiration starts with sugar +oxygen and ends with carbon dioxide + water, but photosynthesis is the exact oposite. What is the same about the two is they have the same "ingredients". :) I hope this helped you to understand photosynthesis and respiration better. :) look below for the last answer that i improved by a lot. :) idk, how i am i sposed to no this, i learned this in scince class lst year.;(

photosynthesis equation is: 6CO2 + 18 ATP + 12 NADPH + 12 H2O= C6H12O6 + 18 ADP + 18 Pi + 12NADP + 6H2O +6O2 Respiration equation is: C6H12O6 + 6CO2 = 6CO2 + 6H2O + 36 ATP
Photosynthesis: 6CO2 + 6H2O + light energy --> 6C6H12O6 + 6O2 Cellular respiration: 6C6H12O6 + 6O2 --> 6CO2 + 6H2O + 34ATP These processes are the reverse of each other with the net being light energy yielding ATP. Although it is not this simple, it shows that the energy from light ultimately ends up as the chemical energy in cells.

Aerobic respiration uses oxygen to produce a large number of ATP molecules, which are used in the cell as energy. Anaerobic respiration used an electron transport chain without oxygen, produces lactic acid, and produces very little ATP and, as such, very little energy.
Right here, just visualize the circles: Photosynthesis: * Only in plants and some bacteria * Occurs in chloroplasts * Reactants: CO2, H2O & Light Energy * Products: O2 & Glucose Similarities: * Both involve O2, H2O, CO2, H2O, Glucose & energy * Both are REDOX reactions Respiration: * In both plants and animals * Occurs in the mitochondria * Reactants: O2 & Glucose * Products: CO2, H2O & Energy
