Scientists tell us that the increase in the atmospheric concentration of carbon dioxide since pre-industrial times has been accompanied by a gradual increase in average global temperatures. They warn that the rate of increase is rising rapidly and will result in extreme global warming and climate change unless we reduce our carbon dioxide emissions.
