A pharynx in a worm is basically an organ that a worm uses to eat. It is thread-like I believe, and a worm pushes it out of their mouth, gets the food, and eats it. So I guess, it could be comparable to a tongue in a human.

Food enters the earthworm's mouth where it is swallowed by the pharynx, it then passes through the esophagus, which has calciferous glands that release calcium carbonate to rid the earthworm's body of excess calcium.

After the esophagus food moves into the crop where it is stored before it moves into the gizzard.

The gizzard uses stones that the earthworm eats to grind the food completely, after which it moves into the intestines where gland cells in the intestine release fluids to aid in the digestive process.
