Uniformitarianism is the idea that essentially the same geologic processes that are operating today have been the same for most (if not all) of Earth's history. Therefore, geologist believe that how they observer the rocks cycle today is how it has always been happening. This means that we can extrapolate the things we see happening today into the past to understand how rocks change from igneous to sedimentary to metamorphic.
Uniformitarianism is frequently summarized as "the present is the key to the past," it assumes that the same natural laws and processes that operate in the universe now, have always operated in the universe in the past and apply everywhere in the universe.
Thus if we see now that floods carrying mud covers over the mud form previous floods, then the top most mud is younger than the layer blow it. Thus using uniformitarianism we can look at old rocks and say that the layers get younger as one goes up the rock sequence.
The rock cycle is a geologic process
This help the principal because erosion is a movement that breaks rock into pieces so that what make the volcanoes more rounder

the endpoint of a rock cycle is the metamorphic rock
it is a true cycle because it the rock cycle
The principal of cross-cutting relationships involves intrusive rock body younger then the rock into which it intrudes.

The laws of conservation of mass applies to the rock cycle because the rocks in the rock cycle relate to matter. The law of conservation of mass says mass cannot be created or deystroyed. The rock cycle shows how differrent liquids turn to gases and solids turn to liquids, etc. When each of them change to different forms their mass isn't more or less, because the matter in which made up the starting product doesn't gain or loose, it stays exactly the same.

Similar events and features occur in old and new rock layers. :)
the endpoint of a rock cycle is the metamorphic rock
No, the rock cycle does not have to start from the sedimentary rock
The rock cycle and water cycle both are natural.
It is called the Rock Cycle.
