What is heat transfered by electromagnetic waves through space?

Radiation is the mode of transfer of heat in the form of electromagnetic wave. Infra red radiations are nothing but heat radiations.

What can radiations do?

radiation can transfer heat to the surrounding's

Does heat travel through a vacuum?

Actually heat cannot travel through vacuum. sun emits radiations (obviously electromagnetic radiations.) which needs no medium to travel. hence these radiations travel through space and reaches earth where it interacts with atmosphere. when these radiations fall on media like air, water land etc. the radiation is converted into heat energy. Thus it is clear that heat from sun is converted into radiations which travel through space and reaches earth where it is converted to light.

How does wood absorb energy from the sun?

heat transfor to radiations

Do all objects give out the same amount of heat radiation?

No, different objects give out different heat radiations.

Why might a spacecraft become too hot?

Because of the absense of atmosphere spacecraft becomes too hot as Sun's heat radiations fall on it. Apart from heat radiations, ultra violet rays too fall on it in larger amount.

What causes immune inhibition?

overexposure to heat and uv radiations causes for the immune inhibition.

Why do you feel hot when you stand in front of the bonfire?

As heat radiations fall on the body, we feel hot.

Are infrared radiations emitted by glowing of firewood?

Yes - infrared radiation is heat. Glowing firewood emits heat (as well as visible light)

Why temperature at altitudes is low while heat from sun falls on altitudes first?

When the sun shines on an object, the object heats up. At the same time, the warm object also radiates heat away from itself. Our atmosphere acts as an insulation blanket, slowing the heat loss. At high altitudes, the air blanket is thinner, so the objects heated by the sun radiate heat back out into space much faster and the temperature is thus lower. Another view: Radiations from sun first falls on altitudes and the altitudes lies in troposphere u.v radiations are high energy radiations which absorb in ozone layer while just visible spectrum falls on surface of earth.that radiations does not heat the earth they simply stirke to ground and absorb in it and then emitt as high energy radiations(terresterial radiations),these radiations reabsorb in high dense air(as we know density of air decreases as we move upward) and the radiations that will not absorb in these molecules n particles of air will move upward(almost in troposphere) and absorb there being high energy radiations/air relative to surroundings the hot air will rise ultimately creating a low temperature there which cause the molecules to be condensed and vapourize(cloud formation) thus finally creates a low temperature at altitudes.

What are some similarities on light and heat?

Lightt and Heat are both electromagnetic radiations the similarity rises to sameness. Heat is low frequency light or light is high frequency light.
