A tsunami can be caused in two ways . Sometimes a tsunami is caused because of an earthquake below the water and because of the seismic waves the water rises and causes a tsunami . If you know tidal waves are caused because of the moon's gravitational pull so sometimes when the pull is too strong then it pulls the water up and leaves so the water instead of going down goes ahead and if there is land ahead and there is population and property and there are full chances of them to get destroyed .
A tsunami can occur when an earthquake or volcano go off underwater and move a big volume of water. This makes big waves which might go to land.
A tsunami happens after an abrupt movement of the ocean floor. The most common causes are from earthquakes and underwater landslides.
There's an earthquake underwater and it makes waves. When the waves come to the beaches they can't go ahead anymore so they go up instead.
when a tsunami enters shallow water there is imediate danger that a tsunami is about to strike...!!(: ENJOY.
A tsunami is not a storm. It is a wave created by an earthquake or landslide. A tsunami can strike during any kind of weather.
No, there will be no tsunami anytime soon.THUMBS UP (;
Sometimes a tsunami can occur after an earthquake has taken place. You can know when a tsunami will occur by the way the water reacts at a beach near the ocean. The water will start to pull away from the beach faster than a tide will. When this happens, the tsunami is about to strike.
The tsunami was too fast when it came out of the ocean. A tsunami in Japan made many people homeless in 2011. Tsunamis are very fast and huge waves from the ocean that strike land after an earthquake or other cause occurs.

A tsunami can travel great distances and strike thousands of miles from where it originated. For example, Hawaii has been hit hard by tsunamis that were tirggered by earthquakes in Alaska and Chile.
A tsunami cannot be precisely predicted even if the right magnitude of an earthquake occurs in the right location. Systems that uses bottom pressure sensors attached to buoys can successfully predict a tsunami. No one yet knows why a tsunami may or may not occur after an earthquake. It is not necessary that a Tsunami follows an earthquake. It only happens when focus of earthquake is in the sea bed. Since earthquakes are caused by seismic waves produced due to collisions of the tectonic plates, these waves high disturbance in the sea water and hence the water takes the form of Tsunamis.
